KINGSTON, Jamaica—A carpenter has been charged with murder following the stabbing death of 39-year-old construction worker Omar Vanhorne, otherwise called ‘Jacko,’ of Georges Plain, Westmoreland on Tuesday, April 7.

He has been identified as 31-year-old cabinet maker Shaun Paul Palmer, otherwise called ‘Feather,’ of Poppy Street, Frome, Westmoreland.

Reports from the Westmoreland police are that about 9:30 pm, Palmer allegedly used a knife to inflict a stab wound to Vanhorne’s chest during an altercation.

The injured man was assisted to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Palmer was arrested the day after and was formally charged on Sunday, April 12, based on witness statements recorded that allegedly implicated him.

His court date is being finalised.
