T.I. reveals moment he felt his son King crossed the line amid beef with 50 Cent: ‘Chill out bro’

T.I. has shared the point at which he felt his feud with 50 Cent had escalated. During an appearance on the Ebro Laura Rosenberg Show on March 3, the “Whatever You Like” rapper said that he felt his 21-year-old son, King, overstepped boundaries after King wore a T-shirt featuring a photo of 50 Cent’s deceased mother, Sabrina.

“I said ‘That’s enough’ when I seen that damn T-shirt. I said, ‘Man, this is enough… Chill out bro,’” he recounted. “I’m big on treating people the way I want to be treated. I don’t be out here just doing unto others in ways I don’t want to be done. And so I don’t want to see my children doing others the way they like… Man, ‘This is in response.’ I’m like, ‘Man, but it’s over with. Let it go. Let this s— go.’”

The recent feud between T.I., 45, and 50 Cent, 50, escalated after T.I. publicly criticized 50 for allegedly withdrawing from a previously agreed-upon Verzuz battle.

50 then shared an unflattering photo of T.I.’s wife, Tameka ‘Tiny’ Harris, on Instagram, which inspired several posts from Tiny and T.I.’s son King, including the diss track “Sayless.” In a video for the song, King wore the T-shirt that featured Sabrina, who died in a fire when 50 Cent was just 8 years old.

T.I. found his family’s involvement in his beef with 50 Cent frustrating, despite releasing his own diss tracks targeting the “In da Club” rapper. His 24-year-old son, Domani, also released a song directed at 50 Cent’s mother, titled “Ms. Jackson.”

“I don’t enjoy it. I do not. Simply because I’ve spent so much time trying to get [King] off the ledge. And now he has justifiable means to undo all the teachings that I’ve been teaching,” he said. “I’m a logical, reasonable man of respect. And I raise my children to be men of respect, [to be] logical, reasonable and not to be emotional. And when I see King, how he moving, it’s emotional.”

T.I. admitted he felt a sense of pride when his son, King, defended his mother, acknowledging he understood King’s reaction after the “matriarch of our household” was brought “into some nonsense,” a reference to the photo 50 Cent (Curtis Jackson) had posted.

“The one thing that I am proud of out of all of this is that the women and children in our family see that it’s a line of men that’s here against who the f–– ever,” he explained. “I ain’t here to defeat. I’m here to defend. I’m here to protect what’s ours, what we built.”

T.I., born Clifford Harris, stated that he accepts not being “everybody’s cup of tea.” However, he made it clear that while he understands this, disrespect is something he will not tolerate.

“I’m real big on treating motherf—ers the way they decide they gonna treat me. I don’t give a f— who raps. I don’t give a f–– who wants to do Verzuz; my life is full,” he said. “I live a life that I am happy with… As a man, if you don’t like what I said, then you shouldn’t have handled it that way.”

T.I. and Tiny, who married in 2010, have a blended family with seven children, according to People. The rapper’s new album, Kill the King, is scheduled for release sometime this year.
