Repeating Islands is 17! – Repeating Islands

Peter Jordens — our “congenial collaborator from Curaçao”— reminded us that today, February 28, 2026, is Repeating Islands’ “blogiversary”. Except for a relatively brief hiatus last year, we have been working on this labor of love for 17 years.

Next on our list: to transfer all our posts from 2009 to 2025 to a new space called Repeating Islands Archives — wish us luck.

For now, we want to express our deepest gratitude to all our readers through the years. Most special thanks to Peter Jordens and to Sabina Hawkes (Lisa’s wonderful research assistant at Vassar College). Happy Blogiversary!
