Offset’s shooting is now a federal case as the FBI provides update on incident
Offset’s shooting is now a federal case, as the FBI Miami field office shared an update on the incident on Tuesday. Authorities also released photos of the suspects and the getaway cars, TMZ reported.
As previously reported by Face2Face Africa, Offset, 34, was shot near the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, on April 6. The 34-year-old was reportedly shot in the leg after he got into an altercation with fellow rapper Lil Tjay. Other individuals in the company of the two rappers were also involved in the fight.
Offset sustained non-life-threatening injuries, and he was taken to a hospital for treatment. He has since been discharged from the hospital.
Lil Tjay, on the other hand, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, and he was released the next day. The 24-year-old is, however, not facing any charges in connection with the shooting, and he has also denied getting into a fight with Offset, WPLG reported.
“I don’t do no damn fightin‘,” Lil Tjay told reporters as he exited the Fort Lauderdale jail.

The FBI, in a statement on Tuesday, provided more information about the shooting, saying that a “large group of subjects assaulted a lone victim when one of the subjects produced a handgun and fired a single shot which struck the victim.”
The FBI also said that the suspects attempted to remove the victim’s watch after the shots were fired.
“After the shots were fired, the subjects then attempted to remove the wounded victim’s watch. The watch was not stolen.”
Authorities said that the suspects subsequently drove away in a matte gray Chevrolet Tahoe and a black Chevrolet Suburban.
The FBI stated that the Seminole Tribe of Florida operates the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood and “crimes committed on Indian land are subject to federal investigation.”
The FBI is also asking people who have information about the shooting to contact them.
