Future’s ex-girlfriend claims it’s been over a year since the rapper saw their son

Future and his ex-girlfriend, Brittni Mealy, are currently embroiled in a court battle, with the former claiming that the rapper, who has at least seven children, hasn’t seen their 13-year-old son in over a year.

Mealy brought the allegations against Future, 42, in an April 7 letter that was written to his lawyers and added as an exhibit in their case, TMZ reported. Mealy claimed it was untrue that she had prevented Future from having access to his son, Prince, as she had “not blocked access in any way, shape or form.”

Mealy also accused Future of being absent from his son’s life for more than a year. She said the Like That rapper has “not seen his son in over sixteen months” and “has not called him.” She further claimed that Future has “meaningfully” failed to inquire about his son’s school, grades, medical needs, or general well-being.

Besides missing Prince’s birthdays and milestones, Mealy also claimed that their son experienced other “irreplaceable moments” without his father. She said that Future bought a phone for Prince so he can directly access his son, adding that the rapper “has the number to contact him at any time.” Mealy further claimed that Future has been a no-show at school meetings.

Mealy admitted that though Future’s mother attempted to establish access to Prince, she prevented that from happening, as she was not legally obliged to do so. She also said she won’t allow that to happen.

Mealy additionally accused Future of not making his new phone number available to his son after he changed it. She claimed that Future told the people around him to refrain from sharing his new number with his son, and he “has given strict orders that those in his circle and family are not to have a relationship with his son.” She also said that the 42-year-old fired an employee who established a relationship with his son, TMZ reported.

Mealy said the only time Future responds is when their issues are publicized, and he worries about how it would affect his image.

The allegations that Mealy recently brought against Future came after she reportedly filed a legal case against him earlier this year. In that case, Mealy is claiming that the Turn on the Lights rapper had yet to honor an order that was supposed to see him get a $500,000 life insurance policy for Prince. Future’s legal team, however, claimed that was not the case.
