MONTEGO BAY, St James — With his alleged confession to his son’s murder missing from court documents, Nolies Bullock walked free from the St James Parish Court last Wednesday.

The case originated from a September 29, 2025 incident in which he and his 33-year-old son, Shimron Bullock, became involved in a heated argument over a house key in Granville, St James. The confrontation reportedly escalated, ending in tragedy when Shimron was fatally attacked with a machete.

On Wednesday, the atmosphere in court was marked by quiet attention as the matter moved toward a conclusion that was not driven by a full trial — or determination of guilt or innocence — but rather by procedural issues.

During the sitting, defence attorney Chumu Paris raised a critical point, informing the court that the prosecution’s bundle that was served on him failed to meet the requisite standard.

The defendant’s alleged confession statement was missing from the committal bundle, the court was told, which severely affected the prosecution’s ability to proceed.

“There was nothing in the bundle to prove a murder was committed,” said Paris.

With that gap at the centre of the matter, the case could not move forward. The prosecution was left without the necessary material to continue, and the court ultimately dismissed the matter for want of prosecution.

As a result, Nolies was formally discharged.
