Hannah Sheree, pageant director for the Miss Universe Jamaica Westmoreland competition, says she is pleased with the lineup of 18 finalists who will be competing for the title on May 23.

“Preparations have been going exceptionally well, with a more intense itinerary leading up to coronation day.  I am very proud of the commitment and enthusiasm of our finalists,” said Hannah Sheree last week during an interview with Observer Online.

She shared that recruitment was encouraging, with 30 young ladies from various communities across the parish showing up for casting late last year in the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa.

The finalists were recently revealed to the public for the first time, during a sashing exercise held at Hotel Commingle in Savannah-La-Mar, Westmoreland.

“The room was full to capacity with enthusiastic patrons as they came out in support of the contestants who consistently wowed the crowd.  We had a few special guests in attendance including the Member of Parliament for Central Westmoreland, Dwayne Vaz, Miss Universe Jamaica West 2025 2nd runner up, Gabrielle Whyte and deputy vice President for Miss Jamaica UK, Maria Marshall.

“I am so incredibly proud of my girls, they are still in training and though this was just the sashing show, a lot of effort and passion was put into the preparation and it paid off beautifully,” said Hannah Sheree.

The pageant director thanked the partners who assisted in making the sashing exercise a success.

“I would like to say a huge thank you to the managing director and staff of Hotel Commingle (official host venue sponsor), Ro Ro Designs for our promotional materials, Jamark Luxury Transportation, The Pill Box Pharmacy for coming on board as gift sponsors, Tan Tan Bakery, Aqua Palace, our official water sponsor and all of our amazing contestant sponsors.  Last but certainly not least, my very efficient production team members Tiena Brown, Crystal Johnson and Andre Walker.  We are truly grateful to you all, for your generous support on the Journey to the crown for the parish of Westmoreland,” said Hannah Sheree.

The coronation show for Miss Universe Jamaica Westmoreland 2026 will be held at Hotel Commingle.  The winner receives an automatic spot in the national Miss Universe Jamaica pageant.
