Leslie Williams, a 62-year-old Florida pastor who wrote a book on how to love your spouse, was arrested last Wednesday on allegations that he had multiple wives. 

Per the New York Post, Williams was charged with bigamy after he was arrested on an outstanding warrant, the Sumter County Sheriff’s Department said.

A warrant for Williams’ arrest was issued by the Rockland County Sheriff’s Department on April 3, and that was after Georgia authorities declared him wanted. Williams is being held without bond as he awaits extradition to Georgia. 

Though there are no full details of Williams’ first marriage, he took to Facebook in December to announce that he had tied the knot with a woman named Cindi. His announcement was received with congratulatory messages from users on the social media platform. 

“Wow I thought you were already married. Congratulations!!” a user commented. “Love is in the air! Mr. and Mrs. Williams!” another person said.

Williams also reportedly took to the social media platform to shower praises on his wife days later. 

“Thanks for all the wonderful comments referencing my saved, beautiful and talented wife, Mrs. Williams! She’s saved for real, praise God!!!” he posted.

Williams is said to have authored a book that provides guidance to men on how they can deeply love their wives by tackling problems in marriage and nurturing a love that is “never failing.” The book, which was released in 2017, is titled, Love Her Like This: Loving Her Has Never Been Deeper.

The book, per its listing on Amazon states that it “speaks directly to the hearts of men sharing the deep intent of the type of love a man should have for his wife” and “deals with common issues that arise in a marriage that have the potential to destroy the sacred relationship between a husband and wife,” the New York Post reported.
