The English Premier League is warning social media users that there is no room for racism, noting that it has a team of experts dedicated to monitoring and investigating online racist abuse against players.

“If you commit abuse, we will work to identify you, locate you and may pursue legal action against you,” the Premier League said in a captioned post on social media.

It said one individual, who it refused to name, was given a 20-week suspended custodial sentence, a three-year ban from football and ordered to pay costs after racially abusing a player online.
