‘Miracle walking’ – Offset’s mom opens up about her son being shot

Offset’s mom, Latabia Woodward, took to social media on Sunday to address her son being shot after the ex-Migos member took the stage to perform live days after the incident.

“I don’t typically address things about my son on social media,” Woodward said about her 34-year-old son, per Complex. “I learned a long time ago that facts rarely survive the internet, and I refuse to feed that machine.”

Woodward added: “Today I have to speak.”

“Six days ago, my son was shot. Four days later, he was released from the hospital. Last night, he was on a stage doing what he loves to do,” she also said. “He is a miracle walking. That is God’s grace, that is God’s mercy.”

Woodward also expressed her gratitude to people who reached out in the aftermath of the shooting.

“To every person who reached out, prayed, called, text, or sent a message, thank you,” she said. “If I haven’t responded to you directly, please know it was not intentional. Your kindness meant everything to me. We love Kiari, we love all of you.”

As previously reported by Face2Face Africa, Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, was shot near the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, on April 6.

The 34-year-old was reportedly shot in the leg after he got into an altercation with fellow rapper Lil Tjay. Other individuals in the company of the two rappers were also involved in the fight

Offset sustained non-life-threatening injuries, and he was taken to a hospital for treatment. Lil Tjay, on the other hand, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, and he was released the next day.
